I love big cats and they are a frequent subject for my painting. Here in the United States, we have a big problem with big cats being held and bred in captivity. This piece was born from the frustration and grief that I feel around the captive life that so many big cats are forced to live. I let myself imagine another world, maybe it is this one in the future, maybe it is one beyond this, but it is one where animals are free to be wild and are safe in their wildness.
